Charity trustees are the individuals ultimately responsible for governing and managing a charity. They ensure the charity fulfils its purposes, complies with the law, and operates responsibly; acting as the "guardians of purpose". Their role involves setting strategy, making key decisions, and overseeing the charity's activities and resources.

Trustees typically serve two-year terms. Where a two year term isn't stated below, the trustee has taken over the role mid-term with the intention of a binding vote being cast at the next AGM as part of an open election process.
